A home that was formerly an attic space and an upper-level addition that originally served as a mechanical room offered unique challenges when Ageloff & Associates was retained to refresh and expand the residence. There had been no domestic water, heating, cooling, or fire suppression in the addition space, and there were seemingly insurmountable acoustical challenges. Owned by an internationally prominent art gallerist, the home required a restrained aesthetic for displaying art and a functional floorplan for entertaining and hosting artists. Ageloff & Associates incorporated a staircase and a dumbwaiter to unify the two levels of the home. The interior design is classically modern, with proper illumination for displaying art and the occasional decorative element acquired during the owner’s many international travels.
