The Showhouse for Heroes is a showcase for premier design talent that benefits charity. Ageloff & Associates was invited to create a bedroom and en suite bath, which they envisioned as a place where a college-aged young woman could sleep, contemplate, read, study and gather with friends. With only eight weeks to complete the rooms, the Ageloff team relied on its industry partners to realize their design. A custom daybed is the room’s centerpiece and serves as both a twin-size bed and a lounge for conversation. Color was a key ingredient in creating an energetic yet sophisticated ambiance. A William Engel oil painting amplifies a high-energy patterned rug, high-gloss grey purple walls and curated vintage glass and pottery. The palette extends to the bathroom with Farrow and Ball wall covering and colorful towels that play against the white vanity, mirror and vintage crystal chandelier. The cheerful results are sure to tempt any college student to make frequent visits home.
